Setting up Structural Measurements

👉 Structure Annotations

Under Structure Annotations users can define Annotation Layers for Structures. Please note that the same layer names and colours are also used for Structural Measurements on the 2D (face photograph) and 3D (LiDAR) pages. 

To add a new Structure Annotation layer press + Add Structure and then pick a colour for it.

👉 Attributes

You can freely define Attributes for Structures such as Comment, Filling and Weathering (for example for geotechnical mapping). Attributes can be of type Text Field or Pick List (with user defined pick list values). The numeric value on the right side of the row indicates the number of pick list values that have been defined for an attribute. Rows without a value are of type Text Field.

To add a new pick list value to an Attribute simply tap on it to get to the Add Value page.

Attributes are accessed through the Structural Measurements tool on the Picture / LiDAR Mapping Page.

All attributes and pick list values are available on page 2 of the Structural Measurement window (tap two dots at bottom of window to change between page 1 and 2 OR swipe left / right within the window).

👉 Convention

By default, structural measurements are recorded using following conventions:

• Planes: Dip / Dip Direction (e.g., 23/186)
• Lineaments: Plunge / Plunge Direction (e.g., 12/211)

If a different convention should be required, then there are several options available under Structures > Convention.

Please note that a change in the convention is only applied to newly captured rock faces. Existing rock faces will keep their originally chosen convention for structures. 

ℹ️ All structural measurements are stored in a CSV file and listed in a table on the Mapping Report PDF.
