Setting up Structural Measurements

Tap the cog wheel icon in the lower TabBar on the Rock Face Gallery Page to get to the Settings. Then go to Mapping > Structures.

šŸ‘‰ Structure Annotations

UnderĀ Structure AnnotationsĀ users can defineĀ Annotation LayersĀ for Structures. Please note that the same layer names and colours are also used forĀ Structural MeasurementsĀ on theĀ 2D (face photograph)Ā andĀ 3D (LiDAR)Ā pages.Ā

To add a new Structure Annotation layer pressĀ + Add StructureĀ and then pick a colour for it.

šŸ‘‰ Attributes

You can freely define Attributes for Structures such asĀ Comment, FillingĀ andĀ WeatheringĀ (for example for geotechnical mapping).Ā AttributesĀ can be of typeĀ Text FieldĀ orĀ Pick ListĀ (with user defined pick list values).Ā The numeric value on the right side of the row indicates the number of pick list values that have been defined for an attribute. Rows without a value are of type Text Field.

To add a new pick list value to anĀ AttributeĀ simply tap on it to get to theĀ Add ValueĀ page.

AttributesĀ are accessed through theĀ Structural MeasurementsĀ tool on the Picture / LiDAR Mapping Page.

All attributes and pick list values are available on page 2 of theĀ Structural MeasurementĀ window (tap two dots at bottom of window to change between page 1 and 2 OR swipe left / right within the window).Ā

šŸ‘‰ Convention

By default, structural measurements are recorded using following conventions:

  • Planes:Ā Dip / Dip DirectionĀ (e.g., 23/186)
  • Lineaments:Ā Plunge / Plunge DirectionĀ (e.g., 12/211)

If a different convention should be required, then there are several options available underĀ Structures > Convention.

Please note that a change in the convention is only applied to newly captured rock faces. Existing rock faces will keep their originally chosen convention for structures.Ā

ā„¹ļøĀ All structural measurements are stored in a CSV file and listed in a table on the Mapping Report PDF.
