First time set up of your iPad

ℹ️ You'll require internet connection to finish the first time setup. 

✋ You'll need to sign up for a (free) Apple ID. The Apple ID is necessary to be able to download and install apps (such as Rock Mapper) from the App Store. You can have up to 10 devices associated with the same Apple ID. If you want to 'go bigger' then use the managed Apple IDs for business option or use multiple Apple IDs. 

👉  Step 1

To turn the iPad on by long-pressing the top button until the Apple logo appears on screen.

👉  Step 2

Simply follow  follow the on-screen instructions. 

✅ During the first time setup you will be asked if you'd like to share App Analytics with App Developers. Please say yes to this question because it helps us with troubleshooting and app improvements.

ℹ️ We recommend using Passcode to lock/unlock the device; it is configured during first time setup. Face ID (= unlock device via facial recognition) is another option to unlock the device but is not advisable if several people are sharing the same device. 

For convenience you can also completely deactivate Passcode so that the iPad stays unlocked. Passcode and Face ID can be adjusted later in the iOS Settings. Open Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
