Activate Subscription & connect to Cloud

Intro

Rock Mapper is a cloud-enabled app. While no internet connection is needed when capturing data underground / in the field, one is required in order to:

šŸ“¤Ā UPLOAD rock faces from your iPad to the Rock Mapper Cloud Account ANDĀ 

šŸ“„Ā DOWNLOAD data from the Rock Mapper Cloud Account to your iPad (e.g.,Ā Laser StationĀ coordinates,Ā Survey PointĀ coordinates,Ā Configuration FilesĀ or existing rock faces)


ā„¹ļø You can access all uploaded rock faces via your browser (see details here). Alternatively, they can be automatically forwarded to any computer that's connected to your Rock Mapper Cloud Account. To do so, please readĀ this articleĀ to find out on how to connect your PC to the Rock Mapper Cloud (only recommended for small teams).Ā Ā 


āœ‹Ā Requirements

  • Apple iPad (running iOS 17.0 or later)
  • Rock Mapper (latest version)
  • Internet connectionĀ 
  • Rock Mapper subscription (Rock Mapper ID, Site ID, Password)



Instructions

šŸ‘‰ Step 1: Open Rock Mapper and go toĀ SettingsĀ 

  • Tap theĀ cog wheel iconĀ in the lower right corner on theĀ Rock Face Gallery PageĀ to get to theĀ Settings.Ā 

šŸ‘‰ StepĀ 2: ChooseĀ Cloud > Rock Mapper CloudĀ and enter User CredentialsĀ 

  • Pick Server (as provided in your Cloud Account activation email)
  • Enter Rock Mapper ID (= username)
  • Enter Site ID (as provided in your Cloud Account activation email)
  • Enter Password (as provided in your Cloud Account activation email)
  • ClickĀ EnableĀ button in upper rightĀ 

ā„¹ļøĀ Please note that Rock Mapper ID, Site ID and Password are all case sensitive.

ā„¹ļøĀ By connecting to the Rock Mapper Cloud you automatically agree to the Terms of Service.


An info message will appear if the connection was successful.
