Rock Mapper 3.6 is our next major release, arriving in Q3 2026. It introduces scanline mapping for geotechnical assessment and a fully redesigned interface.
โน๏ธ Note
This is a preview of what's coming. Features and timing may change before release.
Scanlines for geotechnical assessment
A new scanline tool brings industry-standard geotechnical logging to Rock Mapper. Define a measuring line across a rock face โ on the photograph or the 3D LiDAR scan โ and record every discontinuity that intersects it.
- Capture orientation, spacing, persistence, roughness, aperture, and infill for each structure along the line.
- Work directly on georeferenced data, so every reading carries real-world coordinates and true orientation.
- Export scanline results alongside your existing mapping and sampling data for rock mass characterisation downstream.
A redesigned interface
The app's interface has been rebuilt around Apple's new iOS 26 Liquid Glass design. The result is a lighter, more focused experience that keeps your data front and centre.
- Translucent, layered controls that stay out of the way while you map and sample.
- Clearer navigation and larger touch targets for use with gloves and an Apple Pencil underground.
- A consistent look across every page
